Not Just Another Pretty Face (NJAPF) encourages new and existing collectors of contemporary art to commission work from emerging and established local artists. This process strengthens Utah's artistic community by building personal relationships between artists and patrons. It also supports the Art Center's mission to bring important contemporary art to Utah and provide dynamic educational programming for the community.

Through a series of Salons, the Not Just Another Pretty Face program brought a group of local patrons together with select Utah artists in an effort to match patrons and artists interested in working together to create commissioned works. NJAPF allowed for any type and genre of work including portraiture, abstract and landscape or any art form that a paired artist and patron decide to create. Commissions range in value from $500 to $25,000. Commissioned artwork supports talented Utah artists, as well as the Salt Lake Art Center's exhibitions and educational programming with a 50/50 distribution of the proceeds.
